This time next week we’ll be welcoming theatre makers from London, Oxford, Edinburgh, Los Angeles, and Vancouver to the two-week London Devised Theatre Intensive! They are a hugely talented group of artists, and we can’t wait to see what they create over the course of the workshop! Watch this space…

The Intensive is a mix of masterclasses, peer practice exchange, daily devising, professional development, and group theatre trips. We’re so thrilled to have guest artists Eric Mallett, Lee Simpson, Tom Mansfield, Nir Paldi, and Bryony Kimmings joining us to teach masterclasses (which you can book individually, by the way!).

Under the guidance of facilitator Amy Clare Tasker, we’ll devise our own new performances in Open Space, a liberating format for organising our ideas and our work.

We’ll see an exciting variety of performances together: People of the Eye, devised by the Deaf & Hearing Ensemble; ENO’s Aida, directed by Phelim McDermott; and Let Me Change Your Name, choreographed by Eun-Me Ahn.

Our co-producer Laura Lundy of Blue Panther Productions will offer a group coaching session on the theme of ‘Define Your Creative Self on Your Terms.’  We’ll celebrate the end of the Intensive with our New Work Happy Hour, a chance to chat with London artistic directors and producers about new devised projects.

And the rest… is up to the 8 fearless theatre makers attending the Intensive! Stay tuned for updates from the studio next week!
